Planning, Marketing, Communications
The Committee focuses on the intersection between psychiatry and PMC.
The purpose of the Planning, Marketing, and Communications Committee of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry(GAP) is to oversee and enhance GAP’s mission of being America’s Think Tank for Mental Health, a mission the Committee defined. The Committee has both an internal focus within GAP and an external focus toward the greater society. These dual foci are especially important in our planning functions that generate new ideas to make GAP more efficient and productive and in stimulating communication both among committees and with outside constituents. The Committee focuses on the best methods of getting theThinkTank’s findings into the broader society. The Committee pursues many methods of sustaining GAP, oneof which is raising funds. Because the threat to the health of our planet, our Committee will also have the responsibility of making sure that GAP does everything reasonably possible to protect our environment. The new GAP Forest is just one such initiative.
